DAP Technologies is debuting its first Android computers this week at ProMat, the material handling and logistics industry's premier event. Rugged, lightweight and highly mobile, the M9705 tablet and the M4305 handheld are enterprise-ready solutions for industries ranging from warehouse and logistics, supply chain, field service, transportation, retail and medical applications.
The M9705 tablet offers a solution for enterprise customers who need the screen size and lightweight features of a consumer tablet with a more rugged form factor. Weighing under 2 pounds (780 grams) and less than an inch thick (22 millimeters), the M9705 delivers lightweight mobility in a rugged tablet with a full 9.7-inch multi-touch display for pan and zoom functions.
Protected against water, dust and 4-foot drops to concrete, the M9705 offers a more durable solution than consumer tablets, enabling its use in a variety of environments.
The M9705 also enables reliable communication, with Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and GPS, as well as an optional 3G or 4G/LTE module. An autofocus 5MP camera with flash allows mobile workers to document issues and communicate them with the home office in real time.
The M9705 runs on an ARM?Cortex? processor and includes 1GB Mobile DDR2 and 8GB eMMC. It ships with Android 4.0.
DAP is also releasing antimicrobial options for the M9705 and the M9700, which is a similar Windows-based version, for use in healthcare environments.
The compact M4305 handheld features a brilliant 4.3-inch capacitive multi-touch display, an integrated 1D/2D barcode scanner to facilitate data capture, and dual cameras?-- 2.0MP on the front and 5.0MP with flash on the rear -- to expand the data-collection options. It is sealed to IP67, making it ready for even the most challenging environments.?
Engineered to withstand extreme environmental conditions and rugged handling, the M4305 is sealed against dust and water. It also meets MIL-STD-810G standards for shock, vibration and 4-foot drops to concrete.
Lightweight and highly portable at just 8 ounces (232 g) and 5.2 x 3.2 inches (132 x 82 x mm) and less than an inch thick, the M4305's 4.3-inch capacitive multi-touch display enables easy panning, zooming and scrolling through the Android interface.
The rugged handheld offers built-in Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, and optional GPRS/GSM 3G connectivity for reliable communication. The M4305 runs a TI Cortex A8 OMAP 1GHz processor, includes 512MB SDRAM, and 512MB NAND flash system memory. It ships with Android 2.3.
