Windows/OS X/iOS/Android: AudioNote is a simple notepad app designed to take notes during meetings and lectures. On top of tracking when things happened by time, it also records audio and syncs every word you type along with it.
We've previously mentioned the LiveScribe pen, Microsoft OneNote, and Circus Ponies Notebook as solutions to the problem of syncing your written notes with relevant audio, but each of those options comes with a relatively high cost. AudioNote is free to try (there's a five minute maximum recording time) and the full version is as little as three dollars (pricing varies by operating system, but it's inexpensive across the board). While not the most beautiful app, it's very functional in its singular agenda. You hit record, type, and watch your notes automatically match up with time code. When playing back a recording, the typed words are highlighted. You can search for relevant audio simply by choosing a word during playback. It's very intuitive, offers plenty of customization features, and costs you far less than the competition.
